Armourers quickly re-arm a Spitfire during the Battle of Britain, 1940, while the pilot stretches his legs and untangles his microphone and headset cords. This painting won the SimuFlite award in 1997.

The artist's mother was a radar operator during the Battle of Britain, and was witness to many of the combats of that time.
